Feedback

Must... Have... Validation.

I would like to remind all of you dedicated OC fans out there that operationcromulent.com is fully comment-enabled. At the bottom of every post on website, there is a link to a post-specific comment section, where you can read other people's blatherings about our goings-on, and leave some sage wisdom of your own. Advice, reprimand, slander. Whatever you feel like sharing.
There is also a link for general comments on the right-hand side of the website. That one is for the yelling.

Comments, Number One. Engage.

{taking pity on our weary travellers, she posts a brief comment)

Hey guys -- been visiting OClog only sporadically, so I dont' even have a sense of how the overall trip has been going, but I've quite enjoyed the bits I have read. Let me say I also admire your tenacity, since I was never able to keep any of my own blogs going for more than a few months - and that's from the comfort of home with a reliable internet connection.

So keep trekking, dudes.

Toodles,
--Drey
(Jason, you probably don't remember me, but hopefully Mike, er Mik3, does).

The website is actually a fairly important part of the trip for me. Although exploring the world is rewarding on its own, life can be difficult if you don't feel like you're accomplishing something with your time. Creating this record of our trip satisfies the engineer in me.

Can't you engineer a car-chase or something? Or at least chase-a-Chinaman... maybe it's time to roll out one of your set-pieces --- eg Mike's been keeping his transformer skills (mostly) underwraps.....?

In my previous comment I was suggesting they get involved in a "car chase", a standard cinematic device which may well transfer to the round-the-world-blogging domain. Failing that, I suggested they could chase a Chinese person, purely for the "shits-and-giggles" (as us Brits are wont to profess).

Then I insinuated they might have one or more "set-pieces" up their sleeves, ie premeditated acts (or pre-medicated it seems in Mike's case -- get well soon!) calculated to blow the tiny minds we humble OC readership, thus inducing us to comment (shit/vomit/run around/...) like crazy.

One such act could have been Mike revealing (finally) that he is in fact a 60ft-high transformer robot, intent on not only travelling but demolishing the globe. This little jape was partly aimed at you Juan my friend, me having assumed you were richly versed in such counter-cultural matters. I have to say I was a trite disappointed to learn that you weren't going run with me "and play 'ball'" on this one! Oh well...

So that you might recognize it in future, the overall tone of my comment was one of "facetiousness", a dialectical artform not dissimilar to haiku, which although sometimes frowned upon turns out (when I checked dictonary.com for my spelling) apparently to be OK when "applied with judgment and introduced apropos", ie, forthwith, to summarise, the way wot I said it in my previous comment, which was spot-on thank you very much.

So forgive me Juan. I was actually slightly tiddly when I wrote my comment. Indeed I am tiddly again now, so forgive me twice... your comprehension is all I seek

(Now wash your mouth out for saying "fuck", or I'll send you naked photos of Mike)

No, no. *Me* Grimlok.

Mike's big secret has to do with those photos that Allan isn't supposed to mention. ahem.

A few things:

1. Allan is and always has been in touch with my true nature. I am really travelling to find the other 4 robots like me so we can form up into a larger, more powerful nerd.

2. They are not "naked photos". I am wearing "swimmeys" and a grimace.

3. Juan/Allan - can't you see that your bickering is tearing us apart.

On a related note...

It is easy for me to follow these conversations, because I get an email for every comment. It is not as simple for others, eh? It would be cool if you could register your interest in a thread and receive/post updates to/from your mailbox. I'll bug the blogger folks to see if they are working on that.
