mike, jason: cool so, anyway, dropping a line with this exciting news: I'll try and join part of the Japan leg. And even more to your liking, I may be able to work something out in the way of affordable lodging. With me, if necessary, but I think I can do better... let me just test the multibyte preparation of this blog tool here: 東京のみなさん -- 気を付けて -- 七月は特に -- hmm not bad.
Your Kidnapped entry from St Petersburg didn't show up in your blog. Was that on purpose?
I am very sick now and just told Nick I can't do 4th of July with him.
I'm also quite jealous of all your lovely adventures. I do hope it'll be just as cool in Japan. I want to bump into random strangers and talk about love just like you guys did in St Pete.
I told Eva about this here blog, and she reads it now. Consider yourselves blessed. I wanted to tell Morgan and Carly about it too, but I'm shy.
> Your Kidnapped entry from St > Petersburg didn't show up in your > blog. Was that on purpose?
It's there. It was just back-dated, so it'll only show up in the June archive. Things like this may happen a few times. Since we don't always have internet, shit might get posted a week after it actually happened.
> I am very sick now and just told Nick > I can't do 4th of July with him.
Sorry, man. I know how much you like blowing things up. If it's any consolation, I spent a large portion of my fourth of July trudging through a little mini-monsoon in Vladivostok. By the time I got back to the hotel, I was soaked (my shorts are still wet) and my laptop almost got fried.
> I'm also quite jealous of all your > lovely adventures. I do hope it'll be > just as cool in Japan.
We're in Japan now (Fukuoka), and it's pretty damn good. We just got in tonight and had a really tasty meal in a noodle house. I had dumplings. You too will have dumplings, Nuno.
> I told Eva about this here blog, and > she reads it now. Consider yourselves > blessed. I wanted to tell Morgan and > Carly about it too, but I'm shy.
I'm going to pretend like I know who these people are.

Allow me to meekly make a suggestion. I only want this blog to be accessible to your audience. Usability is my job (professionally at Aerospace and in my personal life here). Anyhoo, if you back-date entries, it confuses the hell out of me and it makes me think that some of your entries that I get wind of via your Yahoo group get lost. Usability Rule #1: Never confuse your users.
I understand you not having Internet all the time. Don't worry about getting the dates right. Just get the things posted in the order they happened, like I'm guessing the message group works. That way, people won't think the things get lost. You other folks should holler up. Am I the only one with this problem?
Wait. I don't understand you not having Internet all the time. How can you check Slashdot everyday otherwise?? And ah, Wikipedia??
> Sorry, man. I know how much you like > blowing things up. I do love blowing things up! I'm still very sick. I need to show up to work anyway. Will load up with Coldbusters from Jamba Juice.
I do hope the shining parts of your trip ah, outshine the crappy parts so far.
> We're in Japan now (Fukuoka), and it's > pretty damn good. We just got in > tonight and had a really tasty meal in > a noodle house. I had dumplings. You > too will have dumplings, Nuno.
I have to say that I was pretty damn sick of noodles by the end of my first Japan trip. But I'm still very much looking forward to seeing you guys. My departure is in 6 days.
> I'm going to pretend like I know who > these people are.
Eva is one of my dearest friends, and one of the best people on this planet. She was the one who gave me that quiche recipe, remember? Morgan and Carly are two travel agents that helped me arrange things. They each asked why I was going to Japan and I began telling them about Operation Cromulent and they both got all excited. What I should have done is give them the URL. Shyness took over though.
hey guys - we want to watch yer vid but have no suitable player & our IT advisor, that nice Mr. Crowe, says we shouldn't download a 10mb to the realplayer spam engine. Could just be 'cos he doesn't want us to see the vid?

just came back from 2 weeks in the internet desert that is rural France - could occasionally get 57K from my cell but not for long enough to peruse your ramblings. So shocked and horrified to hear of your sufferings - glad to know you're back on the road to recovery.
Good to see that when we tell you go blow bubbles out yer ass mike that you act on it.

I have been following the OC most mornings from my soul-sucking office at Bankrupt Airline, Inc... Props to you for doing what most of us have always wished we could do.
Glad to hear that neither of you 'went toward the light' during your recent convalescence. I haven't downloaded the video player yet, but Cousin Mike tells me that Journey to the Center of Mike is a two thumbs up affair.
Saw that you flew the Big Blue U. from HKG to SGN - I trust we treated you like the noblemen you are? Here's hoping you enjoyed your pretzels and Coke as much as we no doubt enjoyed seving them to you...
It'd be great to hook up with you guys at some point on the journey, if just for a weekend - Given round-trip flying times and the aforementioned soul-sucking occupation, I'm thinking a weekend dip into South America might work best. Maybe I can convince Cousin Mike to come along...

Cool. Well, except for the soul-sucking. That's not so cool.

Josh: I have vague memories of talking to you in that there gazebo. But thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the next very special episode of the OC.

I can't believe this journey is almost over for the two of you. It's been great entertainment for me to read of your adventures from my cubicle in Los Angeles. Safe travels back home. M
Yeah. It's all coming to a close. It's strange. It seems like it all went by so quickly, but when I think back to countries like Russia and Japan, it feels like they happened lifetimes ago. I guess in terms of lessons learned, it has been a few lifetimes.
mik3, jason, fellow sport aficionados; most excellent to share company of upscale Hamburg St. Pauli. Very glad we got good seats to see Brazil dumped on the big screen. Would have liked to hang in Dusseldorf after the semi-final too but was headed south. Typical Italy though: victory or no, always a dramatic show. Every game is an opera. Has the operation-to-succeed-cromulent been decided yet? Does it even have a name? Can Cromulent even be succeeded? Until next time; later, leo

Wow. There's a whole bunch of words in there I don't recognize... but I'm pretty sure you just made fun of me in some way.
Damn you, Marco.

I can't believe this journey is almost over for the two of you. It's been great entertainment for me to read of your adventures from my cubicle in Los Angeles.
Safe travels back home.

Yeah. It's all coming to a close. It's strange. It seems like it all went by so quickly, but when I think back to countries like Russia and Japan, it feels like they happened lifetimes ago.
I guess in terms of lessons learned, it has been a few lifetimes.

Apparently you haven't learned the lesson of repetition:
> have a heavy lunch of croatian home cooking for lunch
Haha, you said lunch twice.

mik3, jason, fellow sport aficionados;
most excellent to share company of upscale Hamburg St.

Holy god, I have no idea how I stumbled across this website, but I did, and I was like "Hey I know that guy" and thought I would drop you a line.
Mike - it's Carrie (from wayyyy back). Looks like you had a nifty year on the road. Maybe we'll cross paths again one of these days. :)
