Did you guys venture into the Hagia Sophia? It's one of the most magnificent buildings ever.I studied lots of art history and architecture at Caltech. And I don't know, the HS just strikes a chord with me.

Juan - Yep. It is pretty impressive, but was undergoing restoration work when we were around. There was a mass of scaffolding from floor to cieling, which I reckon spoiled the splendor a bit.

A'yup. We made it there. It was amazing. Yet another reason why Istanbul was the bizzomb. This picture was taken from a window in the Hagia Sofia. And this was inside.

I get a very Imperial Palace (as in Star Wars) vibe from that first one.And NO, that's NOT the reason I dig the Hagia Sophia.
